What was wrong with the pre taped ones?

  2. Andrea Herrera says:

This is great! I would like to know if the tape-ins have affected your hair growth?

    • Lyssa says:

I cant speak for anyone else- but at first NO.. I was in LOVE with tape ins- but sadly after 6-7 months of wearing them( i would do fresh installs every 2-3 weeks -to minimize the possibility of damage.. My once healthy hair that was long to begin with- was broken off or looked broken off due to hair loss .The ends were so thinned out it looked 3-4 ” shorter- yet on my sides – where i didnt wear any / it grew . Also, the length of each tape is very important. No piece should be wider than 3-4 inches ( thats even alittle risky) The appeal of using 2 pieces to get coverage across the back as demonstrated- is attractive( time wise) but the weight of it all on same sectioned hairline is very VERY damaging and will cause severe hair loss( hair loss you wont see at first ( this doesn’t happen in the shower of when just brushing ( holding your hair to avoid pulling) but happens simply from wearing them. I used all the products – installed them beautifully – – and was very very good at installing them- they were gorgeous- but sadly they damage your hair and its severe. My hair lost A LOT of length and the ends looked so bad i wanted to cry ..,, SO ive been wearing halo extensions that i made myself ( I had so many hair packages of REMY INDIHAIR (a lot of money ) because I was so in love with the tape ins. and they were a lot of money so I use those to make my own halos) they are Invisible and require no glue clips tape or anything / just wefts and invisible hair thin wire. I have perfected them to the point that i use 3 long pieces and pull my own hair through it- so it doesn’t move at all / cant even feel them i wish i could post pics to show u what my hair was like before finding tape ins and what it looked like after – I like 52 weeks of beauty and i dont blame her at all.. It’s just like eyelash extensions no matter what they tell you or how safe they are- that they dont damage your lashes- it doesn’t matter the day you decide to stop wearing them and have them removed your lashes will be basically cut in half and it takes a good year for it to grow back This post is in no way meant to hurt Christy , I think she is a doll. That said- as she states in all her videos she is not a professional she’s just a girl that is found a method that worked for her. Girls do this at their own risk . There is a video where she shows her self outside with no extensions in and you can see how thin her hair is and she said she’s always had thin hair – im sure thats – BUT the ends of her hair at the back thinned out and had the same thinning pattern . you can see the difference. If she approves it – ill share my photos – and you can decide .I have nothing to gain by informing anyone of this I’m not in the hair extension business/ I’m not looking to be I’m just somebody that tried it and for the first few months was in love until I saw what it actually did to my hair I learned the hard way like I did with lash extensions

  3. AlmostForty AlmostFabulous says:

Hey sweetie. Just to let you know I linked your channel and videos in a video I did a few weeks ago. I’ve followed your method for ages and explained to my viewers what I did but told them to watch yours for the proper instructions ♡

  4. Catherine Howarth says:

Yay! A new video about tape ins! Love your new background too, so pretty!

  5. Shannie says:

Yaaay tape in video!! How do I clean the wefts? Mine always have alot or glue left over ): I don’t want to use my tape remover on them too much (it’s expensive!!) any tips?

  6. holi wagner says:

ok i just love you to death! love your videos! but this girl is crazy confused? how does the hair on the top of the weft not get tangled when you let your hair down to stick to the top of the weft???? i have watched the video 100 times. I am ready to buy some tape ins but i am just dumb founded by it??? help a girl out lol thank you so much!

  7. georgie92782 says:

Please can you do another video of installing them please xx

  8. Amanda Albers says:

I just love you! You’re videos are so informative. I wasn’t happy with my clip in extensions but after finding your channel I now feel like I can handle converting them to tape in. Quick question tho, I know you said you only use walker tape but I wonder if any of your followers have mentioned Hair Wefting Tape? Among other things, they claim you can use their tape to make “seamless wefts” which sounds perfect but I can’t find customer reviews anywhere to tell if they are legit or how well the tape holds compared to walker. Just wondered if you had heard anything. Thanks again for the great videos.:)

  9. Emily Moss says:

I did your tape in technique and i absolutely love it!! and just wanted to say thank you!! i feel so beautiful and the up keep is pretty easy and so much less expensive than going to the salon its crazy! and my hair is not damaged its amazing!

  10. Brooke Bindner says:

Why don’t you do the sandwich technique? It’s a lot cleaner looking I find!

  11. Brooke Bindner says:

Pureology is amazing on extensions! Sulphate free too to it helps keep them in longer 🙂 expensive but worth it. Need to take care of your investment!

  12. Mandi Guardiola says:

I totally agree about the sallys tape vs walker tape! Sallys wont stay in as long and they also feel thick and plastic like! I cant wait to order hair from you just have to wait for the back to school shopping is done! God I wish I could afford the hair and shampoo release now!!!!! thanks for all the hair help!!!

  13. lili brady says:

Hi:-) I just want to thank you for sharing all your beauty tips, you’re awesome!

  14. Valerie Cucinotta says:

Any recommendations on removing the sticky residue from the wefts after you take them out? I have used the residue removing shampoo and Dawn dishwashing soap….still sticky!

  15. clipinqueen says:

Great video. Agree with everything! Cant wait to see how you sleep with them and also how you brush them. Thanks

  16. Maya Lightle says:

Yay!!! I have been waiting for another tape-in video!!!! Your the best Kristi<3

  17. BeautyScholar says:

Please do the hairstyle video ASAP!! Need inspiration down here in Australia 🙂

  18. kkaye1115 says:

Your hair seems thicker in this video. Are you using different hair ??

  19. Emily Moss says:

One question I have that you’ve probably already answered is the tape gets sticky in my hair. Does your stay dry? Any suggestions?

  20. Emily Moss says:

Sticky is a bad description for the tape lol let me try again… After I have them in for about 3 weeks the tape gets really “melty” and makes my head so itchy. Hopefully that describes it better. Any suggestions?

  21. ANN KOCUM says:

Hi Christy! I have been obsessed with your videos! Best extension videos on YouTube….I just ordered the Walker weft release from Amazon, and come to find out, its coming from you!! I’m so excited..Thanks for all your great videos!Ann

  22. Amanda Corricelli says:

HI Christy, i have been watching a ton of your videos preparing to make/do my own tape ins. They are all great! I am wondering what you have done different with your hair from this video compared to your install video. It looks like you have a ton more! Its exactly what I’m hoping mine will look like. Did you double the amount of hair? Or add more to each weft? Thanks!

  23. Anita Hang says:

Hey Christy, I just wanted to know with the tape in extensions, how many pieces do you usually use? For a full look?

  24. Abigail Gonzalez says:

Hi i just put in some tape in extensions that I made following your directions and It didn’t come out the same:(((( as you;(( my hair doesn’t flip up they are stuck down!! Lol well they move a little but not to much lol .. Help:)))

  25. Debbie H says:

Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so much from them and, and they have helped me so much with the courage to get tape-ins, especially at my age (44). I have very fine, thin hair like yours and have always always ALWAYS (sorry but had to really express it) wanted long hair. I wanted to make my dream a reality before I got too old to have long hair.I would love to see some styling videos. I have a chin length bob when I got them and am letting my hair grow out. The only thing I really have a problem with is that my real hair doesn’t blend to well with extensions, especially in the back. You are so creative so I bet you have lots of styling tips to help blend and hide my hair.

  26. Cynthia says:

I’m so thankful for your videos and have learned so much. I just love my extensions and have already had comments from strangers saying I have pretty hair. I’m 58 and no one has ever told me that until now. You don’t have to be 20 or under 50 to wear long hair. Long healthy hair looks good on any age.

  27. Molly Teeter says:

Do you sell your tape in extensions in your company?

  28. Sandra Empey says:

I have watched all your tape extension videos numerous times!! My hair is thinning due to menopause and I want it back! Do you think tape in is a good idea for me? I do value you opinion, please let me know.

  29. shortcake210382 says:

I work out at the gym. I get very sweaty, like my head is dripping wet from sweat. I love wearing my tape ins but haven’t put them in for awhile because I’m worried about the sweat making them slip. Do you have any suggestions? Also where do you get that purple bottle of the solvent remover shampoo?

  30. Stephanie Kay says:

You are and continuing to be an inspiration to me. I have just recently come upon your 52 weeks of beauty and I have my tape in extensions in and love them! I too have tried many different kinds of extensions, but so far I like these the best. Tomorrow will be time to wash. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks Stephanie

  31. Denise George says:

I wore tape ins using your technique and after two weeks they were very tangled at the roots. I tried tons of detangler but it seemed like the tangles were caught in the tape. I tried taking very gentle good care of the hair but still had this massive tangling. I removed them after two weeks because I couldnt get them to lay right anymore with the knots at the base. Have you heard of anything like this before?? Any idea what I did wrong?I plan to try the technique again when your line of pre-made tape ins comes out.

  32. Denise George says:

Just FYI I bought the Miss Flirty brand of clip ins to use for now and they are gorgeous! I cant believe how much hair is included for the money! It’s cheaper than other brands and I got better hair and more hair. The clips are very strong and the weft is flat — both very important for my thin, fine, blonde hair. I encourage everyone to use Miss Flirty brand for your clip ins or tape ins. I have not been compensated in any way to say this and only know Christy thru her web channel. This is a legitimate review from a very impressed customer.

  33. Julia Borovoy says:

My video request is a voice-over for ‘a day in the life of wearing tape-ins’. It would be great to see the morning routine, followed by products and tips for daytime maintenance, and then a bed time routine. How do you keep your hair fresh during the in-between shower days? and I also vote for an updated removal routine! Beauty is always adapting, so its great to see the evolution of products and practices 🙂

  34. Lawanda Perthel says:

I’ve come across your video’s almost a year ago and I am still making my own tape in hair extensions. I have relaxed hair and it works for me just fine!I use walker’s tape and weft release. I always order off either E-bay or amazon when I am running low so I never miss a beat. It takes me an entire Sunday because I wash and condition my hair before I re-apply. I usually re-do my tape extension every other week because the tops wefts always slide down and the tape becomes sticky. Also, for work I have to pull my hair back into a pony tail so if I was able to wear my hair down most of the time I am sure my extension would have a longer life. Over-all this by far my favorite type of extensions because I can do them myself, re-use my hair and only buy tape! Getting tape in hair extensions done in the salon is about $150 an hour … insane!! So thanks for sharing your beauty secret!!!!!!

  35. vietchick xo says:

Hey, your videos helped me a lot and I used your method thank you! but I got a question I have dandruff and having tap ins can be an annoyance, do you have any tips to get rid of it?

  36. Debbie H says:

When you make start selling the premade Miss Flirty tape-ins, are you going to have the tape on both sides to do your unsandwhich method or will we have to put the tape on the other side?

  37. Melissa Burley says:

I have been wanting to try your hair extensions but I have such a hard time finding them. Can you give me a direct link, or a better way of getting the the site to buy them.

  38. Melissa Burley says:

Wow, that was surprisingly easy. Well, now, I’m thinking maybe my issue was more about choices I don’t exactly remember. However, I have ALWAYS used Euronext 18 in Blonde Frost (which is a two tone, matches my hair perfectly) they are apparently discontinueing which is a bummer for sure. Although it will allow me to try yours, if I have enough moula $$ lol. What color choice, would you think would be the closest?

  39. Allison says:

    Hi Christy,
You never talk about short hair or different styles. I’m not a long straight hair girl. I’m a big hair shaggy look. I want curly hair too. So I thought I could cut and curl the extensions and get the shag look. I put them on the top of my head, had too try it….they had to come out, yep they look stupid. I did the sandwich because I’m licensed and the sales lady pressured me. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PERFECLY PAIR THE TAPED WESTS ON YOURSELF! THEY WILL BE FALLING OUT AS SOON AS I WASH MY HAIR. YOUR MEATHOD IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO ON YOURSELF. Please tell everyone this is not just a product preference it’s necessary. Thus the tape then is essential. Sad I can’t at least buy a kit from you with walker products. I hate ebay and I’d like tO buy everything in a set. I can say that even my 2 inch hair can have tape ins, they are so flat. I got good ihair and with my discount Im happy with the color and texture now I gotta get creative with then top and buy the tape. Thank you for all your help and aND product help. I can post some of my install and let you know the . Take care!

  40. Amanda Ford says:

Most informative tape hair extensions vids on YT. Thanks so much! Please continue. Cheers!

  41. Paula Thompson says:

Hi christi please can you tell me how to make my pre bonded extensions into tape ins thank you I love your videos x

  42. Adalisha Burgos says:

Your videos have been so helpful. Thank you so much
