52 Weeks of Beauty – 2013 Week 6 – Hair Tutorial – Queen Helene’s Cholesterol Review!

♥ I bought this product to help with my overdryed, brittle, color treated hair and was amazed how full, shiny and healthy my hair looked and felt afterwards. I will use this product at least 2 times a week! I left it on for 30 minutes, put a shower cap on and added heat and put a towel over shower cap to keep heat in. *** I forgot to lather it with hot water in this video. It still worked amazingly well (and the same as the time before when I remembered to lather. So, lathering is not essential, but probably helps make the product disperse all over hair a little better). Then rinsed it out in the shower. Took about 2 minutes to come out. I did not shampoo or condition afterwards. Just added some heat protectant by Bumble and Bumble (Prep) and blow dryed my hair. This product has mineral oil in it and works better than any deep conditioning treatment I have ever used. And it was only: $3.69! Love, love, love!!

Its not that bad… Smells great to me.

  2. MiaMia Mama says:

My VERY favorite deep conditioning mask is by “It’s a 10”, it comes in a jar. Not the spray but the mask. It the only thing I’ve ever tried that works fantastic. It’s pretty pricy is the downside, at anywhere from $23-30. I usually get it on Amazon but stores sell it for around $27. Since I only use it a couple times a month it does last a while. I highly recommend it.

  3. Jessica Ortiz says:

Try pure, raw unprocessed honey, organic pure aloe and any conditioner mix those together and leave on as long as you can. This literally saved my damaged hair and transformed it in one 2 weeks.

  4. Jessica Ortiz says:

Don’t use the green aloe that you find in the drugstore for sunburn use one that you get from a whole foods store or a vitamin Shoppe or just buy the actual aloe leaf from the grocery store.

  5. Jessica Ortiz says:

The honey and just plain water is good too. People say that because the honey is so sticky that its hard to wash out but that’s not true at all. If you want, check out my channel. I have a lot of different all natural hair masks and face masks that all include honey. It’s great!

  6. Jessica Ortiz says:

And Jamaican Black Castor Oil will thicken your hair a lot. It worked so good for me. This stuff didn’t smell bad for me.

  7. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Hi! Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I will have to look this up – I am definitely interested in anything that will thicken my hair – that’s for sure! And – I watched your video about the hair mask with aloe, honey and conditioner. How much of each do I use?

  8. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Somehow I missed these two comments! I will look into the conditioner for sure! 🙂 Thank u!

  9. Jessica Ortiz says:

I just eyeball it pretty much. I put more honey than anything. Just measure depending on the length of your hair. But with the castor oil I only put that onto my scalp and do a scalp massage when I do this treatment. Massage for about 5 minutes and then put this treatment on. I also use the castor oil on my eyelashes and eyebrows. Within a month my hair is thicker. Check out my videos.

  10. Jessica Ortiz says:

Yea its a 10 is supposed to be great. But very pricey.

  11. brownbuckseleven says:

Hi, would you consider installing curley hair?

  12. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Hi…you mean – on myself? If so – then yes!

  13. Andrea Banks says:

    I love your hair

  14. Bfoxy4life says:

I know the smell is not that great, but it worked to get my hair healthy

  15. Bfoxy4life says:

You need plastic conditioning caps, like from Walmart . Pack of 30 for .98 cents. Use a bonnet dryer so you won’t have use ur arm and get tired

  16. 52weeksofbeauty says:

    Thank you… <3

  17. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Yes – true and I agree – it is a GREAT product! 🙂

  18. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Fun – thank you for the tips!! 🙂

  19. Anthony Spencer says:

how often do you have to use it for the best results? and how long until you see a change in your hair?

  20. 52weeksofbeauty says:

You can use it as often as you have time for! And you should see results on the softness of your hair right away! 🙂

  21. charlene pizano says:

    this stuff is great

  22. charlene pizano says:

what i like to do is use a shampoo like folicure which removes all residue from your hair. then i towel dry my hair. then i apply the condition from the ends up, not on my scalp!!! then i put a shower cap on my head ( cheap kind from dollar tree) . then i put my heating cap on. i leave the cap on my head for a hour…..wash out then skip washing my hair for 2 days ..then repeat

  23. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Awesome tips – thank you! Never heard of folicure – I will check it out! 🙂

  24. Hailey Dawn says:

you are just soo beautiful! Thank you for inspiring <3

  25. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Thank you over and over!! <3...2!

  26. Tiffany S says:

Okay … let me just begin by saying I totally know how you feel about the short hair, but don’t worry … you’re GORGEOUS!!! I love watching your videos; they are packed with great ideas and tips and your personality just makes them POP! When I (accidentally) over process my hair, I use a 2:1 ratio of organic extra virgin coconut oil and vitamin E oil all over my scalp and hair. SOMETIMES I’ll leave it in overnight but that kind of feels gross to me. Gonna give this hair mask a try!

  27. 52weeksofbeauty says:

My heart is so smiley after reading your comment!! What a sweetheart you are!! Thank you SO MUCH!! And – I have never tried Vit e oil as a mask – I love that idea. I always use coconut oil – but vit e is so great too- that the two together sound like a fab idea! <3 🙂

  28. vlogbeauty says:

I just purchased this product TODAY ! . my hair is naturally thick and wavy and its processed hair including a henna dye . I am also a beauty guru check out my channel and plz sub back :)) . Thx for the review !.

  29. 52weeksofbeauty says:

Thx for the sub – I subbed back! And – awesome – let me know how you like it! I will check out your videos too! xo!

  30. Brianne Bouma says:

i am actually watching this while i have the same mask on my hair!! what i do to heat mine up is i stick a heating pad on my head over my shower cap…it looks super goofy…but it works!! haha

  31. Małgorzata Borkowska says:

can i use the mask with extensions if i apply it below the junction?

  32. 52weeksofbeauty says:

    Yes absolutely!

  33. iherb couponcode says:

you can find it here very cheap!Use code FTL882http://www.iherb.com/queen-helene?rcode=ftl882

  34. Mariah Shopten says:

lol! I always assumed its a black hair care product. I never heard of caucasian women using this. Interesting. But it makes sense…bleached hair etc… Some of us dilute it a little bit with water. Works wonders on Black hair…Thick curly hair…I use it a lot towards winter time. I never apply it on my hair dry…I just soak my hair with water and then add the cream. U can also take a small amount of queen helen mix it up with a bit of aussie..again I have african american hair.

  35. DEBORAH MIN says:

do you rinse it off with water? or shampoo your hair to remove it?

  36. Ree Bae says:

If white women where smart they’d use blk hair products a lot of them are wayyyyyy cheaper with better ingredients ijs power to you girl lol lotta product for little price

  37. Cyndie Cassidy says:

Instead of using a towel to keep the heat in I use a thick “Boggin” or ski cap. Keeps the hair tight to your head which helps to add heat.

  38. kiannaluv21 says:

LOL I had to laugh at you cringing about the texture of the “goop” I can tell you’re not familiar with “black hair products” lmao it’s cool that goop definitely *saves* my hair, it’s worth it!

  39. kiannaluv21 says:

And you can find a “heated” or conditioning cap at “Asian” hair stores I say asian b/c they usually own the stores but they sell black hair products and they’re as cheap the Cholesterol Conditioner and work so well

  40. Cassyp4cHair says:

How awesome! I (closed-minded) never thought that our Caucasian sisters knew or used Queen Helene Cholesterol treatment. This is one of the best deep conditioner creams for a good price. I usually add some oils to it and sleep overnight with it in my hair, and follow up with a shampoo &conditioner. Wow!!! I love it 😀

  41. Madison Bardot says:

Thanks for the video 🙂 will have to try it! I love your long hair, but I have to say though that I think your real hair is really pretty, classy too!

  42. Dee Taylor says:

Lol that idiot said “if white women where smart”….bitch learn to spell before you make comments like that…you make yourself look ignorant..

  43. Laura Schulz says:

I think you looked great with short hair!

  44. Mari Jaco says:

My hair is bleached. Love this but I think it may have made my hair brassy. Does it?

  45. Mari Jaco says:

Thanks btw like your hair short!!! Tried it again and it’s great!

  46. Mayen Eshiett says:

I love this because I use dumb blonde shampoo the purple one for over processe bleach or chemically treated and use this conditioner twice a week as my point being hair products are not based on race but rather on hair texture. I love the way your hair looks afterwards

  47. Christina Randall says:

I have the before and after shots on my channel! Be sure to check it out (:

  48. Amanda Adams says:

  49. stephanie Mutina says:

Hey Girls, I need to ask Does this help with Burnt Hair as well ??

  50. Lovebug7 says:
